MicHael Jaffe, CIO (Lisbon)

A dual Portuguese & US citizen, Jaffe brings over 15 years of professional real estate investing expertise in developed, and emerging and frontier markets across all property types including office, hotel, retail and residential. At CGC, Jaffe oversees the global acquisitions and capital markets programs.

Previously, Jaffe was the Global Head of Real Estate for Greenoaks Capital, a $2.0 billion investor in venture capital, global insurance and international real estate with a focus on developing and frontier markets. The platform specialized in commercial, residential, retail and hotel development, as well as REITs and stabilized property acquisitions.

Prior to Greenoaks, Jaffe spent several years as Director, Equity and Debt Investments for RFR. Led by Aby Rosen and Michael Fuchs, RFR controls more than $10.0 billion of real estate across property types around the world.

Before RFR, Jaffe was an Associate in the Emerging Markets Group at Tishman Speyer, and he began his career in the Real Estate Group at Lazard Freres in New York.

He is a Member of the Advisory Board of the New York Landmarks Conservancy and in 2018 was appointed to the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Special Commission for Real Estate Investment.

Jaffe holds an A.B. in Economics from Harvard University, where he was a member of the Varsity Squash Team.
